ARTIST’S STATEMENT:

 

“Life is a voyage, during which we meet unique human beings.

 

Our paths cross perhaps at the corner of a street, during a trip or in a café...

People fascinate me by their nature, their past, their present, their behavior and their unique story.

I observe their singular beauty, their joy, their pain, their madness, their cruelty and lack of concern.

 

Through these observations, I try to leave an impression; that of their existence.

 

From 2000 onwards, I decided to solely use acrylic on canvas as I adore the texture and the instantaneity of the work I can produce with it. Because all I do is to create instant and soulful work. Everything is in the now. My paintings are not pre-thought, prepared, pre-organised. It is a spontaneous stroke of paint that produces these human beings and creatures, which only then, do they take their sense and context within the world, and are named.

 

Whatever I create, on these white canvases, it comes from deep within my soul. “
